10385, New Turbo Difficulty Posted by z1pp0, Oct-06-01 06:44 AM
I installed the turbo yesterday and it was running great for the first few runs down the street, even at high boost. But now, at a medium throttle position i can feel the turbo spool up and then kick in like normal, but when i open up the throttle any more than conservatively it seems to bog, like i can feel the pressure build and my acceleration increase for a moment, but then it will lose the power. My fuel pressure is around 50 at idle and runs up past 110 at full throttle. I am gonna go check all the couplers and what not and see if they are all tight. Thanks for any info.

You may want to turn out the brass needle on the fpr a bit to lean it out . If I remember right the HRC manual says that 110 is the highest psi you would want at WOT with a stage 2. Anything above that may alter your rise rate too much and supply too much fuel before and during WOT.

You may also want to check your wastegate. I've heard on the internalk wastegate setups, the actuator arm can actually come loose.
no wastegate = high boost = lean condition = knock = timing retard = stutter and power loss.
