103523, FMU in conjunction with stock FPR, details... Posted by kevox, May-09-08 06:20 PM
Ok I just want to clarify things now that my mechanic has flown in from another state to help me install the Megasquirt finally....the stock FPR is located above the rear passenger tire well, right? I don't have to mess with that in any way, correct? The FMU then gets mounted on the RETURN line under the hood, correct? Please let me know if I have this right! thanks

You should be using an adjustable 1:1 fpr....not an fmu....
You've been here how long now?

So I got the wording wrong then cause it is an AEM 1:1 Adjustable FPR...Does it get used in addition to the stock FPR and does it go on the return fuel line?

Remove old FPR, run lines to bay, install new AFPR.

Yowza!
Research is your friend. Flying in a mechanic without knowing how to run the lines or hook up the 1:1 = him staying in a hotel room for an extra 2 weeks while you research what you need for a megasquirt setup.
You need to completely bypass the stock system, well you can keep the feed line, but if your car is 96+ then you will have to bypass the stock fpr and run a new return line to the tank. Good luck!
I don't understand the lack of knowledge or interest in researching with all the n0wbs these days...

Thats pretty sweet cause I had no idea I needed to buy extra fuel line for this - figured the stock fuel lines were sufficient, oops :(
Well it turns out we can't find fuel/map curves online to program the MsNs anyways so we can't even install the dang thing (boy, what a waste of money it was to fly him out here! That's the last time I trust a website that says all the maps I will need is on their site when I need to get them....) but hey at least now we don't have to install the AFPR with extra return fuel lines that I don't have!
Pretty much he came out here to help me wire up the 3 gauges and get the pod installed plus get a good idea of how to do it in his own mind once we find the fuel curves online...oh but he's still here tomorrow if any of you fine gents have a fuel curve for me! please!
