Please help me find a link to where I may find some reliable, intelligent documentation of this swap.

Both cars are complete, and both run. This should be a matter of gutting the 2gNT's drivetrain and wiring, then bringing in as much TSi drivetrain and wiring.

The big question: removing the NT subframe/engine cradle, welding in a 2G turbo's subframe/cradle + mounts and wiring harness...do I need to use 2G turbo guages, and will I still have hair by the time this is all complete?

I considered it for too long, there are to many differences between the platforms to really try to make a post just to tell you how to do it. The easy answer is "NO." and the next best answer if you're determined to do it is "Figure it out yourself."

I never stopped to consider the hardlines and hoses, power steering, et cetera. Feeling a little sheepish - you are right, that would be ridiculous.

I suppose my real issue is that I want to have my cake and eat it too; the '92 TSi is quick, but very much the beater on the outside. I have about $6,000 wrapped up in the Talon, and it's all in the engine.

The '99 GS beautiful, has leather, and a concert quality stereo system. People know me because of this car. It is just so achingly beyond slow. I know that the 420A has awesome power potential, but doing another complete engine build-up is not something I can practically consider. Can the 420A be built to make the 400+ horsepower my TSi setup has, without a budget that would make NASA cry? What about a simple 200 to 230 HP setup?

I guess I just need to lurk more, and accept that I have to learn another engine, or sell the '99 NT for a GST. I must grudgingly admit that I know nothing about producing NA power.

Seriously, thank you both for your input. I love my '99. I don't want to get rid of it. How can I make the most of it?

Please do not destroy a perfectly good 2gnt. For the sake of the community. If you do intend to do this, try to find a shell and go from there.

Keep the NT as a dd.

You want fast, find a car that came factory with a 4g63.

700 bucks! This is what you need to look for. Body/interior was great, motor bad. I wanted to drop a 4g63 in my RS too. Before I was smart about these cars. I even had a block ready to be built.
