i just ordered a fmic that is 31"L x 12"H x 4"thick. i have read a couple threads on this but never seen anything about a fmic that is 4" thick. i know it is robbing the radiator of air so i plan to get a cooler thermostat,new radiator cap,radiator flush and rewire the fans so both run at the same time. Is there anything else i can do? i am kinda worried now that i really think about it cause the fmic is 4" thick and it seems like no air could get through.

I run a 4". Cut some of your front bumper out and you will be fine.

I have a 4" thick i/c too and I rewired it so the fans will run at the same time and it seemed to help, but a c&r or koyo radiator would help out also. Along with some FAL fans. The rewire should do you good for the winter though.

I guess I should have mentioned that I have a Fluidyne radiator and SLIM fans as well.

car is up for the winter? so the rewire should hold me over until i can get a peformance radiator and fans? how much did you guys pay for those performance radiator and fans? im not lookin to spend a fortune on a radiator.

Actually there is a special on dsmtuners right now for visteon radiators with spal fan for 270. Here is the link http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/vendor-announcements/275899-visteon-aluminum-radiator-w-spal-fan-2g-just-269-99-shipped.html. Not positive its still going on but its pretty damn cheap.

I wouldnt worry about overheating though. I ran 15psi on the street with a HRC fmic and i never overheated even when the temps were in the 90's in south Louisiana. All i have is a 180 degree thermostat too. Stock radiator and fans are still operated normally. I did trim the hell out of my bumper though.

You can also find C&R aluminum radiators on ebay for about $275 or you could get the koyo radiator off ebay, with the aluminum core and plastic end tanks for about $150. The FAL fans will cost you a good bit, but I think the aluminum radiator alone would help out alot. Not saying that the fans wouldn't help out more, but that you will pay an extra $225 + for them.
