102099, Pulling timing during two step launch

Last time at the track i had my two step set at 5000 and i would build about 5 lbs of boost. I have a 20g and i thought that it would get a little higher than that. Well a guy at the track to me to pull some timing when the 2step is engaged. I finally figured out how to do it with my MSD box but i dont know how much timing to pull. I tried it today and it seems that for every 2 or 3 degrees of timing i pull i can get about a pound more of boost. Does anyone know how much i can pull before i could possibly hurt my engine?

Watch the EGTs. When you pull too much timing out, the exhaust temp will skyrocket due to fuel burning off in the exhaust manifold. When that happens, back it down a bit.
