whats up dudes,

i need some encouragement on this, it was my day off and i was bored, so i started doing my budget for my build. as you guys may know im going down the gt35r lane + all the supporting mods, also im getting a new tranny with the lsd. i am doing all the work. my goal after tune and with no nitrous is 415whp, at least.

i did the budget and it came close to 20,000!!!!!!!! omg!!! i know i can shave some money off of it, with some parts, so its pretty close to 18,000-19,0000!!! the money doesnt worry me (knock on wood) because i can get it, but the time its going to take me to get it, is what is worring me. and i figured, by the time i am done spending all that money, i could have bought my self a good 3000gt! (dream car).

i really dont wanna quit, because i hate quitting on things i start, but i need some encouragement, please, help.

p.s. i get the feeling that not much people are going to answer to this.

you dont want a gt35R.....gt30r prolly at the most. a 60-1 garrett will suit your needs just fine.

As for the money, you must be figuring some of the most expensive shit you can. People sell their parts here and there is Ebay ect.

Thats not figuring suspension work but i think thats a general idea. some of my figures are extremely generous and you really shouldnt spend that much. Nobody said this was cheap but over the course of 3 years you can have a pretty sweet car. Rome wasnt built in a day.

If you want to pinch pennies then technically you can go buy a mustang for 10,000.

Its your call but i think counting what your going to spend and being in a hurry is a personal issue. I dont think I have 20k in mine and its potential for 400whp is there, just needs more tuning.

yeah go for it.

as for the quaife....I am not figuring a quaife. you dont need one. You can either go with a retrofit or wait a little bit till the obx has been tested by Mark (bulletDSM). it appears to be working well for the neon crowd and we use the same basic trans. Granted you have to change some springs but that has been tested and figured out by other members so there is a solution.

Agreed on all points, as for the Quaife, while nice, unnecessary IMO.

I tend to over research crap and I'm pretty confident (from the Neon boys) that the OBX will perform very well. But even if you wanted the Quaife, you are only adding another $750 (cost difference between the Quaife and the OBX).

Keep in mind that you don't have to do this all at once. The LSD can go in your own tranny until you find a 3.55. The stock axles can put up with quite a bit of abuse, so those will be fine until you really start hammering on them with high torque. Turbo kit can be set-up on your stock engine while you are building your "built" engine (just because you have the capability to boost hard, doesn't mean you have to).

You really want to do this in steps anyway. Over time the money is not quite as bad and the time factor allows you to pick up "deals" as they come up.
