another 420 is soon to be boosted! so far i have walbro 255hp, 2.5 inch mandrel bent catback, test pipe, t3\t4 60trim, manifold, wastegate, fmic, type RS BOV, oil feed and return lines with fittings, boost air\fuel and oil temp. guages,and vortech 12:1 fmu. Now as far as tuning what do you guys recommend, i know there are a few options, but i would like to hear some input from you guys about likes\dislikes, advantages\disadvantages of the tuning systems you guys are using, looking for something not too expensive. thanks

How much boost do you plan to run? Is this a track car or daily driver? How hands on are you?

Megasquirt is probably the best bang for your buck "Method of tuning" I say that because it is a full stand alone system.

Portfueler is very easy to tune and work with but is on the expensive side.

If you stay small you can run a FMU or a SFMU depending on your injectors.

We need more information to truly give you an answer.

If you are going to use the fmu with stock injectors then that should be good enough for 7 psi.

It's a daily driver..im planning on running 8psi on stock injectors for a lil while until i can get more money to run other mods (injectors, TB, intake manifold, port&polish)and possibly build the bottom end.

I ran about that same setup for a while, and it worked well. Only issue I had was under full boost my fuel pressure was through the roof (WAY into the 100's, 110's) and some of my fuel lines wound up cracking. Otherwise I totally agree with above

Granted that the fmu is way cheaper than the sfmu. You would be able to lower those higher fuel pressures under wot with the bleed valve setup on the sfmu. Just something to think about.

Yeah I definatly recomend getting a adjustable FMU its way better in the end with tunability options. If you want your car to " just run" and not be able to tune things then get a Fixed ratio FMU otherwise get the good stuff.
