If you have a Portfueler setup and recieve a bogging or leaning out at -1inHg or about that area, you might be wondering why. You probably tried to contact HRC tech and they never answer. You also might be tempted to tune the portfueler to engauge earlier instead of at 0PSI.


If you are still running a stock ignition coil than this is your problem.

I upgraded to an MSD ignition coil and wires, my bogging is gone.

Other reasons might be: fouled stock injectors or not hot enough/cold enough plugs. NGK makes the best performance plugs for our cars, and luckily they are extremely inexpensive. The NGK plugs also come with a one year warantee and if your plugs are not doing the trick take them back to the store you bought them from and exchange them.

The MSD does not have the greatest reputation. The problem being longevity. I changed my stocker out for the MSD (wanted to be sure of "clean" spark) and I ended up having problems in the top end after a while. Went back to the stocker.

I'm guessing that in your case, your coil may have been on the way out and you replaced to fix the problem. But glad your problem is solved. Something to keep in mind.

Will the MSD damage the head or does the MSD just wear out after a bit?
