hey I was wondering if i could tune my car off of fuel pressure without a wideband. only fuel pressure tuning with the sfmu,I ask this because after i install my block i need to save up for a wide band so in the meentime while i save up i was wanting to set my fuel pressure at about 90psi at 5 psi of boost at WOt and idle around 50psi,will this be safe in the meantime?

50psi idle with stock injectors is fine, but you can't 'tune' your fuel settings without having any idea what your a/f's are. I hope you at least have more than a fuel pressure gauge, like an egt gauge or even a narrowband a/f gauge to hold you over until you get a wideband.

Or if you have another vehicle, be patient and do not drive the car until you get that wideband. Better safe than sorry.

I do have a pos narrow band installed but...its a narrow band, so is the key to just not to let it go to yellow at wot or should it be dead green pig rich just to be safe in the meentime.

THAT, I can't really help you with, my narrowband isn't a blinky light, so I always had a number to look at. It might be okay, it might not be depending on the gauge. Mine always read lower than people said it should, but everything about my fp was fine so I just took it as reading low. Mine did however save me a few times just from things going wrong causing the car to really lean out. If it gets out of that green and into the red in a hurry, LET OFF. Of course those few times, there was also a noticeable smell associated with the lean condition, uh-oh. Fortunately it has not grenaded even after a 12psi spike on stock injectors

Don't. You can do alot of damage to your engine by just running lean for a few minutes.

so can I still drive normal and be safe as long as I dont get on the throttle?I hate taking the bus but also hate spending the day in the wrecking yard.

Running too lean can blow up your motor and running too rich can blow up your motor. Tuning is an art; who here paints pictures with out paint?
