I'm thinking about going the Magayver route and building my own turbo set up (I know I know I know kits are less headaches but I actually like that kind of shit.). What I want to do is use my stock exaust manifold and weld a different flange to adapt to a turbo and then have a muffler shop chop my down tube down a little to compensate for the turbo. I have a 95 RS so I don't have to worry about the AC getting in the way. My question is this what kind of turbo could I use in this type of set up? Since it won't be the usual exaust entering horizontally from the manifold and exiting vertically to the down tube kind of set up I don't know if there are many if any turbos out there I can use. Does anyone know what type I can use or of any vehicles that come stock with this type of turbo? Sorry so long
