i bought a Garrett turbo off of my friend and i dont know which one it is? The only thing i can find is "M27" on the turbine housing. I googled Garrett M27 and it came up as Garrett aircraft M27 turbo but no one knew anything about it. Can someone give me the specs. on it and what size exhaust flange it has? I need to find a manifold that it will bolt up to also.

Can someone tell me what #1 and #2 are in the first picture and what #3 is in the last picture and what #4 is in the fourth picture? Hope the pictures help. I know some of that is oil stuff but i dont exactly know. Any specs on this? I am taking that o2 housing off and welding the downpipe to it.

well if it truly is a Garett then its a water-cooled CHRA, as i dont know of any turbos that are dual oiled.
id pop the compressor housing and the turbine housing off and measure the blades. this will give us a reference as to the size of the turbo.
other then that see if you can find any other markings under the rust.

Looks like a 48 trim just based on size. The inlet flange looks really familer I just cant think of what car I have seen it on.

well i think i found it your turbo is a Garett T3 Chrysler turbo

this one showes the dual t3 pattern (std t3 and chrysler t3) ![]() 
this is most likley an OEM Mopar turbo used on 2.0-2.4l (look at some neon kits) and yes terry was correct, most are 48 trim :thumbsup more exact measurements of the Comp wheel inducer and exducer, as well as the turbine diameter and i can tell ya more exactly what ya got. here is a picture of yours installed

so when its mounted the turbo is on the left side opposed to the right side like everyone elses kits? Should i still take off that o2 housing and just weld the DP to it? What exhaust manifold do i need for this? Im also not sure which lines are for oil and which arent. i want to plu the water lines, the ones i dont need. Another question i had was, do u need an o2 sensor with a turbo? If so do i have to include that in my downpipe? do u have any more specs about this turbo?

Looks like the same one I got, but from a different seller. Not sure if they would be the exact same manifolds, but I am very happy with mine so far (had it a year, no problems whatsoever).

i dont have a wastegate for that manifold. Which one should i buy and what do i do with the wastegate thats on the turbo? Are u sure my turbo will bolt up to that manifold?

It should fit fine.
No wastegate? No problem.
Take your manifold to a machine shop and have them make a block off plate for you if you're not inclined to do it yourself.

i can make one myself. But where do i put my o2 sensor? In my downpipe? And also i am going to buy an EGT gauge. Where am i going to put the EGT probe?I know it usually goes in the #4 runner? where do put it?

aight 1. you dont have to rotate the turbo at all like it is in the picture. thats just how the fit it on a Neon / Daytona. on a eclipse it will fit the right way. (may have to "clock" the turbo to get the lines to point in the right direction.)
2. since you have a Chrysler T3 flange you will need to drill extra holes for mounting to a "standard T3" flange, or find an adapter flange. it just grab a T3 gasket and mark out the holes on your turbo so it looks like the above pic i posted.
3. ANY T3 manifold that is made for the 420 eclipse will work with this turbo, even if you just use the internal wastegate for now. a blockoff plate is easy to make and if you ever upgrade to an external unit its easy to add. if you upgrade your turbine to a larger unit you still have a good manifold with an external wastegate spot available. if you dont want to make your own block off, grab this one from atpturbo http://www.atpturbo.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=ATP-FLS-006&Category_Code=ATP-FLS1
4. for a downpipe id look for a 5-bolt adapter plate to make your downpipe with. if your going 3" (highly recomended) id look into the 5-bolt to V-band adapter from www.atpturbo.com easier to modify the downpipe v-band then to try and get the whole thing to match up right to the turbo. especially if your making your own downpipe. http://www.atpturbo.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=ATP-FLS-021&Category_Code=ATP-FLS1
5. yes you need an O2 sensor. if you decide to just build a pipe to fit the O2 housing that is on the turbo, then just stick the sensor in that spot. if your thinking of a wideband sensor stick it in that spot and then put the stock narowband in the downpipe. (you'll need to weld in a bung for that) if your gonna go the "Make your own downpipe" with the v-band setup then you'll weld in 2 bungs near each other (2" min from centerpoints and offset in the exhaust stream) one for the stock sensor and one for a wideband. even if you dont have one now id still put a bung there anyway since your going through the trouble to fabricate a new pipe.
6. yes the EGT goes in the #4 runner (closest to drivers side. lol i still have to count my cylinders and i now have them labled on the spark wires) follow the directions for drilling and tapping the screw in adapter that came with the gauge. usually its a 1/4 NPT iirc and poof your done
7. the lines are simple enough to work with although id get some nice new AN fittings for the oil and water lines. again atpturbo should have most everything you need if you dont have a local speed shop that you can take the turbo in and get it all. to identify your lines is easy. the largest one on there is the oil return. i wouldnt use the stock one since our routing will be different and you'll need the straightest possible run. grab a -10 AN fitting and your good. directly opposite this drain is the oil inlet. as this is a Garett BB unit you'll need a restricter inline to keep the oil pressure in the turbo at about 25-40 psi. the propper fitting is a -4AN male to -4AN reverse flare with a .035" hole so i'd get this from somplace like atpturbo http://www.atpturbo.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=ATP-OIL-021&Category_Code=GTBB eventhough you want to block off the water passages its easy to connect to our coolent system. plus the added benifits of the water cooled CHRA can help keep you from trashing the turbo and add a little piece of mind to the longevity of your investment. (also a bit cheaper then building a external oil cooler system) now this can be simple or complex. (for good examples search for "water cooling my turbo") simple is using ruber tubing to go from our water pipes to the turbo, complex is using AN fittings and SS lines. SS looks nice but can be a pain in the ass in the beginning until you get the hang of building lines.

idk. i ordered my exhaust manifold today off of ebay (the one whose link i posted) so when i get that im gonna need to buy a t3 flange gasket a new exhaust manifold gasket (where do i buy these two gaskets?), make a block off plate for the external wastegate on the manifold, and then start fabricating a downpipe. I want to take off the o2 housing thats on the turbo right now ( i have a stainless steel pipe right now that has an inside diameter of 2 1/4" which is the same size as my exhaust pipe). i want to weld the downpipe to the part where i took the o2 housing off of, so what flange am i going to need for this part so it can bolt up to the turbo? next i am going to need the other side of the downpipes flange so i can bolt the downpipe up to my exhaust. what size flange am i going to need for the bottom part of the downpipe? (i have a full greddy evo2 exhaust, i also have a greddy stainless header and i was wondering if i could cut the flange off of the bottom of it?) once the downpipe is welding and bolted up, i want to use the 02 sensor i have now (that is in my greddy header) and make a spot for it in my downpipe correct? So once the downpipe is welded and bolted up i need to drill and tap a hole for the o2 sensor and then that part is done? After that I am going to have to drill and tap new holes on my exhaust flange that is on my turbo? What size bolt and nuts do i need? Then i will need to cut new holes in the t3 flange gasket? After that part i need to drill and tap a hole in my #4 runner in my new exhaust manifold for the egt gauge. After i get all of this done i will start on the oil and water stuff (i will need help with the oil and water fittings and lines and all that but not till after im done with all of the above) Can u please help explain this to me better? I want to use the o2 sensor i have right now. Also does anyone know the spool time of this turbo at 6psi?

i got my cast iron manifold from ebay today and ad news. It doesnt fit my inlet at all. What should i do so im not out $150 on a manifold? I was thinking just weld the manifold to the inlet and just make it one piece? But if i do that will i still need a gasket?
