i have a 99 eclipse gs with 120,000 miles on it. I want to boost the car probably using the stage one hahn racecraft turbo kit, and then eventually upgrading to a stage two. Is it worth it to boost this car or does it already have too many miles on it. I have taken good care of the engine and it is in good condition. If it does have too many miles to last with a turbo, is it worth swapping a new 420a motor with less miles into the car? i really appreciate the input. Thanks

Welcome to the site. This is a pretty common question with a pretty simple yet complex answer. Do a compression test to see what kind of shape the motor's in, then decide, but always know in the back of your mind, your motor WILL eventually go. There have been many people to boost there cars with 100k+ miles myself included.

Not IMO, I mean if you're going to go through the trouble up front, it might as well be a built motor. I would build a second motor either before boosting if the motor's not in good shape and put it in then boost, or shortly after getting boosted, this way if you do turbo the stock motor you'll be ready for it when it goes. Oh another thing to consider is if you can afford downtime or not.

I also recommend searching/reading on here for hours b/c you can put together a great kit for yourself for less than the cost of the hahn kit and you can get all the good parts to start with instead of replacing some parts down the road.
