this is for 99gs, i have fmu 12:1 and i was thinking to put it under the hood (yeah i know early eclipses have it under the hood and late need to put it in rear) the reason i would like to do this, is because i don't feel safe running vacuum hose under the car, i think you are just asking for it by doing that. Now i already have two 6an 10ft for feed and return line which i could use (SFMU is on the way), i would like to run with 12:1 fmu for now.

Running a vacuum line underneat the car is safe if you do it the right way. I just finished my turbo install last week and wish that I had the pics to show you but there are three or four clamps with four groves that are placed underneath the car. These clamps hold three lines which I believe are for fuel and there is one empty grove. The vacuum line fits perfectly in this empty grove so all you have to do is run the vacuum line along these three clamps and put it in the grove to hold it in place. I also used zip ties as an added insurance but it's not going anywhere. Running fuel lines into your engine bay should scare you more cause a hot engine bay with aftermarket fuel lines running around can cause an explosion if you don't do it right.

thx, ok, went to my local autozone and got hose to go under the car, its pretty thick.

don't do things twice.. if you are getting an SFMU then make sure you get some nice fuel hose and run it from the tank to the engine bay. you are not going to want your SFMU under the vehicle. Don't worry about the "car exploding" that's a little too hollywood.
Just get some s/s line and run a feed and return line under the vehicle for your SFMU. check for leaks once hooked up and you should be good. There are atleast two write ups about this.

yeah i already have 6an ss hose for feed and return, but i was thinking to hook up fmu under the hood until i get sfmu(not sure if that will work

it will work, but the connections will be a little different as with the FMU you need to use the stock FPR and no return line, but you need a return line and remove the stock FPR when using the SFMU.

thants what i wanted to hear, yeah i know you need to keep stock fpr with fmu, thank for all the help
