100743, fuel system upgreade questions
Posted by tbone, Jul-06-07 02:39 PM
I am going to be putting my motor in soon and I am not sure what to run for a fuel system.

What I have is right now are the basics. I have to link it all together.

specs-
wally 255 hp
Areomotive regulator
770 injectors

I will be running 15lbs of boost right off, but I plan on stepping up to 20 psi later. I am going to be running MSnS aswell.

I need to know about what size fuel lines(both supply and return) and what fittings I need.

What should I run for a fuel rail(modify the stock, or go custom)

I have searched, but I keep reading so many different things, I now am more confused than I was when I started.

Thanks
TOm

Its all going to be preference. Personally i recommend 3/8 fuel line which is -6an as you know. As far as the fuel rail, you can either modify the factory and weld in a AN fitting on the end of the rail and acquire a custom rail from someone here with 6an fittings.

Thanks Terry,

Thats the impression that I gathered.

so here is what I have come up with,
run -6an from pump to the rail
-6an from rail to regulator

what should I use for return to the tank? -6an, or smaller

as for the rail I havent made my decision yet

exactly
-6 all around
usually the trickiest part of the whole thing is adapting the SS line to the return

arrrgh for the life of my i cant find / remember the adapter ( xx to -6) for the fuel filter.
most solve this by replacing the fuel filter with an aftermarket designed for injected cars, then its usually easier to adapt to it
