Ok i know this is a common question but, while searching i did not find all of my answers. I just installed my kit(basically a hahn 16g kit)
anyway my questions are...
-i was wondering if anyone has had problems with spikes with the turbo xs boost controller, i followed the instructions but i have seen spikes of 7-8 psi and i have it set for 2-4 psi.
-Next the car is at the muffler shop welding in my dp but when i pick it up i will fill it up with some 91 oct but right now it has a 1/4 tank of 87 oct will this be ok(i assume yes but because i am running low boost)
-egts, i know it will depend on some things but from what it sounds like they should be around 1.5k to 1.6k at wot, and 800-1k at idle. But i am wondering what they should be when i go to turn off the car, i am assuming just normal idle temps(i know i need to let it cool but i was not sure what is a safe temp)

- The lowest boost level possible is whatever the wastegate actuator is rated for, I'd say its rated at 5 or 8psi depending on which actuator you have. A boost controller can only raise the pressure limit beyond the wastegate setting, it can't go below that.
- Filling up the tank with 91 should be fine, just add a bottle of octane booster to the first tank if you'd like. 3/4's of 91 octane and a 1/4 of 87 octane equates to 90 octane.
- EGT's vary from car to car but just be sure to keep it under 1600 degrees at all costs. If it rises above that, get off the gas immediately.
What size FMU are you using and are you running the GSS-342 walbro 255lph pump? Read the article in the bottom of my signature regarding your particular fuel setup for some tips.

thanks for the reply i am runing a 12:1 fmu and it is the GSS317 i think, i got it from my friend and he got it from extreme psi brand new.
Also thanks for the link, i will read that. Thanks also for the reply on the egts i did not know that about the boost controller.
But as for what is a good egt temp for it to be safe to turn off the car??

You can turn the car off whenever, the EGT's aren't a concern. Once you shut the car off, there is no more exhaust flow so the temps drop very rapidly.
The GSS-317 is not a HIGH PRESSURE model and it is the wrong pump for your requirements. You definitely should get the GSS-342 unless you want to kill your engine with your fuel setup. Have you installed it yet??
Be sure to read that article before you go any further ;) It'll save you some hassles down the road.

The GSS 317 will work fine. Its not the High Volumn model but it will work. Dont believe me? Call hahn Racecraft, they supply that pump with the new stage 2 kits.

Do the new kits come with the 270cc injectors now? Because that would make more sense. I honestly dont see how that pump can even ACHIEVE 110psi if its not a high pressure model. Most regular 255lph's they offer max out at 90psi, with almost no fuel flow volume.

Good to hear. Thanks terry for a secound there i thought i just wasted money on the wrong pump.
Anyway i took the car to a show this week and the car drove wonderfully. I am though still seeing a spike it boost when i get on it and i disconnected the boost controller(i think i might have a higher wg now) it has spiked to 6-7psi. I also noticed my oil pan is leaking which is no biggy though cause i have an extra gasket for the pan and i will swap out the old one i used

you say it spikes to 6-7psi. What is it running at then? I would assume you would be running at 6-7 psi.

I was told the wg on the turbo is a 5psi gate and that is what i wanted. So then is it normal for it to do that then?

Check the hose going to the wastegate for any sharp bends or possible leaks. If there is a slight kink in it, it would take a burst of pressure to straighten out the hose first which would cause a boost spike, sometimes a lot higher spike than you are experiecing. The S16G isn't known for a great deal of boost creep so I doubt its the internal wastegate assembly.
If you are splitting the line going to the wastegate with something else like the BOV or boost gauge, try giving it a direct connection to the intake manifold.

that fuel pump will work fine until you wanna start pushing higher numbers with 440cc. If your fuel calculations comes out to under 90psi on the guage, you're fine.

I'm pretty sure he's using the stock 235cc injectors which was my concern with that pump.

ahh that is probably it then, i did split the line for the bov. I will go ahead and do that then and go right to the intake mani

I would highly recommend the high pressure fuel pump with any rising rate fuel pressure regulator. If using a 1:1 regulator the low pressure or normal pump is fine.

I knew the low pressure pump just didnt make any sense unless you were running 290cc+ injectors. So there you have it, get the GSS-342 and you'll be all set.
