100112, from SFMU to port fueler
Posted by streetlightning, May-11-07 08:29 PM
ok, im running a SFMU currently and im going to the port fueler setup. my question is, to instal the SFMU, i had to take out the stock regulator. (this is on a 96 fuel sys)I also added the -6an return line. So now ill need a 1:1 FPR correct to run with the port fueler correct? will i need to re-install the sock fpr as well or just leave the stock out and get the 1:1 FPR. Im lookin at the aeromotive ones.. will it matter if i get the one with 6an ports vs the 10an ports and knock the fittings to 6an?

you will need to leave the factory regulator out and install the Aeromotive regulator.

The aeromotive regulator will not come with any fittings, you will need to buy them separate. Buy 6an fittings that will work best for your application.

You will still need the return line you installed.

If you are currently running the SFMU then you are already 95% done with the installation. Just remove the SFMU and replace directly with the aeromotive 1:1.
All is the same feed on side, return on bottom. Set your idle fuel pressure and you're done.

why not save the cost of those and use the sfmu that you allready have. you can set a stock idle press. and then a verry slow rise rate. not sure how good those vortec ones work but my begi-bell is capable of it.

begi-bell = 1/5th as good as the S-FMU. He's right though, you can get a 1:1 disc for a few bucks from Vortech.

how do you figure? if i were to change my pressures, i wouldn't have to buy a spring and disc or do mathmatic equations. just set it and forget it.

why the hell couldnt he just pull the vac line off of the sfmu and set his fuel pressure to what he wants, that way he has a steady fp that will never change?
