I originally planned on letting someone else do it to save me the headache. then I heard a place would do it for $300. But in the end that was still $300 out of my pocket so I went to my parents driveway, put it on jackstands on a saturday and was boosting up and down the street sunday evening. The best part of doing it yourself is when something goes wrong or when something needs to be checked or tightened down you'll have a clue. Still $1000 is too much (look at it this way. anything that takes a day to install shouldn't cost $1000 labor. A clutch takes nearly all day and labor is $250-350. Hell it only cost $500 to remove and reinstall an engine).
