I like the looks of them on a 2g so im thinking about getting one.

I wouldn't do it just b/c my car is black so you wouldn't see it anyways, but I'd rather spend $10 on something I'm sure is going to get scraped then $100+ for one I know is going to get hit. Also, I beleive there's a volkswagon lip floating around that fits too, I'll see if I can find it for you

What kind of tape do you think would work good for that type of thing?

I think it actually has an adhesive side so you don't need tape. If you do it be sure to post pics because I will probably put a 2gb bumper back on and even with the black, a little lip might make it stand out just enough.

EDIT: I just came back from home depot with the stuff $8.95 for the garage bottom seal. I'll post pics when I get it on this week.

The one in that post does look clean.

I actually like the one that goes almost straight down, and overlaps the bumper a little. I dont know if I can make it work with the 2gb bumper though :shrug

This lip is old news.

The biggest problem is it isn't made for our cars, so you're going to have to rig it to fit. They do look pretty tight though.

Yahoo is being a bitch so i cant upload the pics..i took them with my cell so they look shitty..i can get pics up tomorrow forsure tho with my buddys camera.

I can tell you this though. When i got it on i took the pics then remembered how on the srt4 forum one guy said how does it do at high speeds...well i tried it and it worked out perfectly! i only went to 100 mph to see if it would come off and it didnt. But when i went down a driveway coming out of a store i guess the HDR lip came off because when i got home i only had the tape there LOL. So i went back and found it lying there all alone haha..but before i went back i thought id lost it along time ago so i went back to home depot, bought another one then i found the one i had already.

I was thinking this though since i have another spare "lip" and they come kind of a blackish grayish color..why dont i spray it flat black then clear coat it and see how it looks. I did it and its outside drying so tomorrow ill have that one put on the car then take pics and show the difference.

The first 4 pics are of the original color and the other 4 pics are of flat black with clear coat. Looks awesome IMO.

Hope you guys like it..only thing i would change is the way you can kinda see the tape but owell haha.

Not gonna lie. I don't like it. I prefer when it's made to go down and not stick out if you know what I mean. Like in the srt-4 above. And it appears a bit wavy, which I think you wouldn't notice if it was facing down instead of sticking out. Did you use the hard rubber or the foam type? But, for the <$20 I don't think it looks bad. Oh if the tape bugs you, I think a few people that had the same problem just took a sharpie to it. I'll still give you points for doing it though.

I think it looks crap.

Straigten it out or get a real lip.

When you said you liked it facing down like the srt4 above did you mean the red one posted on here?? If so its not facing down its just the whole piece on the bumper.

I think if you get a little wave in it this way you're not going to be able to notice it either being that it will be perpendicular to the ground instead of parallel

Its hard to make it go down like I wanted since we dont have alot of vertical drop inthe very bottom of our bumpers unlike the SRT4's. I did mine, and took pics for the writeup since this foo was taking forever. Mine is also sticking out, but I chose the "smaller" side of the seal for a thinner lip:





Also the guy in this picture below used a different style of garage bottom seal because mine DID NOT look like that

I ended up using carpet tape its holding up but id rather use something stronger.

My HDR lip is no more. As I drove out of my favorite gas station (out of which I always scrape) I didn't hear the usual CRACK! of the bottom of my bumper getting scratched to hell. It died doing its job. While I was putting my one range hotter plugs, I noticed it was no longer there (the HDR Lip) RIP.
