Well, I had planned to do this for quite some time now, and with the recent fires down here I found myself having nothing to do (school canceled for the whole week) So me and my best friend, whos dad does this for living, went at it. Here area few picshers:

Here is the closed cell foam, and some "dense deadening material" that looks and is the same thing as dynamat, but sold at my local Upholstery outlet (Thanks to ez, who helped out!):



And here is the newly cleaned carped on top of the closed cell foam and the sound deadener:



Thanks to RoninEclipse as well, for his help. I took out every interior panel, including door panels, and put a layer of closed cell foam on the back side, some even got some "dynamat" on them. This took about two full days to do, letting the glue set, tracing each interior panel onto the foam, waiting for the carpet and seats to dry, reinstalling and test driving. The car is no where NEAR lexus quiet, and the reason is that there is no insulation behind the dash, and thats where most of my noise was coming from. BUT, the car is NOTICEABLY quieter than before. Here is what shocked me:

Before when I listened to music, I had to have the volume on 12 (out of 30) to be able to listen to it normally, not rupturing my ears or sticking my head on the speakers. Now I can put it on 5, and I think it gets too loud at times.

More complete chronological pictures to come later. But for now, here is some guy parked at my local DMV, anything wrong with it?

I can't take all the credit for the cleaning, my mom saw us striping the car, and that we tossed the carpet and seats on the yard, and she asked me if I wanted her to help clean it. DAYUM, is what I said when I saw it, my momma knows her cleaning! Hurray for 2gnt mom's :thumbsup

spray the carpet with some lysol over the next couple days to prevent bacteria from growing and making your whole interior reek, just a light spraying should work
