Its the factory panel with the letters ECLIPSE removed and just painted over. I will sell you mine which is blue but you can repaint if you want.

You paint it over with clear and tranparent black mixed together. the more black the darker it is. I would do half and half. sand the lights with 600 grit first wet sanded! make them real smooth then paint. the better the surface the less orange peel you will get.

if your gonna wet sand for a smooth finish your gonna want to wet sand it after you paint it. however scuffign the plastic surface is needed before you try and add paint or it will just flake off. wet sanding actually works best when you do it between coats of paint. if your using a one-step paint (color hardener and clear in one shooting) then it needs to be wet sanded before the hardener cures or it will be WAY more difficult

Oh yeah another question.. Should i paint on the outside or inside of the thing?

outside or else you'll have to remove all the reflective film from the inside of it, and it will still have a red tinge to it.

1) unbolt it 2) take to autobody shop and have them paint it 3) bolt back on
** If steps 1 & 3 are too hard just take to autobody shop and they can do it for you :P
That or you can do it the correct way yourself if you have an HVLP spray (or suction-can, either will work). Lightly sand with around 800-1000 grit, and prime. Then mix 1 part catalyst/hardner, 5 parts thinner, 5 parts enamel paint and shoot it in 3 light coats. Then clean your gun and go back over with a few coats of clear-coat enamel. Or if you really just don't care how well it looks, spray-bomb with closest color home depot can provide.

I'm also wanting to get mine painted. I went to a paint shop today and the guy there said it would be $80.00 because he has to get the black paint to match the car which will be $35.00 according to him and then the rest is labor. Eighty sounds a little high I think, but I don't know oh well I guess.
