Hey guys... here is a few pics of where I am now... Only fear I have so far is fitting the glove box and the bottom dash trim pieces against my dash along with radio trim with no gaps... Still working out the bad spots... Hopefully u guys who have walked this road before coudl give me some input:

That looks good, but your going to have trouble getting it to fit right and getting the trim pieces in there because I can tell its too thick around the edges. You should have pulled it off of the OE dash and used that mold. That way you could have trimmed off the edges and moved them in about 1/2". Thats what I always do.

Well I did mold it from another dash:) I covered the AC trims tape and wax and had them ready when I started glassing... Right before the resin started gettign real tacky I slipped the trims back inside.. I did the same with the speedo.... Only one i didnt do it for was the radio bezel, ( because Im doing this entirely out of my car and dont want to pull my car aparty until this one is complete and painted. I was thinking of just going to a local junkyard and pulling an old dash out of there nd trying to get mine to fit.... (Along with a pack of 36 grit sandpaper of course and a buddy of mine to get it in... Figure I can change the shape of it for the most part there and use a marker to see areas that still need work and go home and chene it up... thanks for the support.. Ill try to get some more pics up when I got something worth showing.

I can always block sand hte piss out of the corners to gimme a lil more room.. I only got 2 layers of mat around the corners for the most part.... meh... well see :)

You better hope you can get that thing through the door when your done with it.

actually it isnt that much bulkier with the screen molded in... i jus finished trimming out the ac vent area so it fits pretty well in there... Btw about it not fitting i already slipped it in my freinds scrapped eclipse and it goes it fine... the sides where the doors come up against the dash only has 2 layers of resin and i got about 1 1/4 inch gap between the two... things are moving right along :)

Got kind of aggrivated with this dash... thought my contour lines were wavy... decided to spray a coat of guide coat (filler primer) to see how things were looking. Expected to be dissapointed.... But I wasnt
Im only 80-120 grit on most of the dash 180- 220 where i primed (high build)... and this is no where near the final shape... but finally looking at it in kind of 1 color is kind of inspiring :)

looking good! more work than I would undertake with mine. fiberglass can be a harsh mistress sometimes. can't wait to see shots of it in the car.

It is really starting to take shape now. Looks good. I bet that things weighs a ton too. Also, hate to you ruin your day, but in the summer, it will crack from all the direct sunlight onto the dash.

I know for damn sure this thing wont crack because fo weight... I made a other dash that I fuked up and I could stand on it and it wouldnt flex or anything... Maybe the sun will eventually tear it up... But I do plan on keepin it covered... And this thing is never in the sun anyways... She stays in the shed with a cover over her. It think ill get a few years and quite a few shows out of it before I whave to repair it... :)

Besides I had this roof scoop on top of my car and it is 2 layers thick made fom glass and it never cracked.. Its outside, in the sun, and wind hits it :)... I think it all depends on how u mix ur resins, how much mat you use, etc to really get a good guess on the amount of stress it can take. See what I mean?

good work on the glass. I've found that I get much better results with glass cloth, not matt. I like to make sure the "pattern" on the cloth is going different directions each layer. much better stress resistance.

No the thing is that you glassed over a flexible plastic piece. A roof scoop is different, as are body kits and what not.

Hmm... true the foam is flexible and it is built on what I believe a polystierene frame, but I do have 3-4 layers of matting across the entire dash not counting reienforcement short strand filler or bondo. Its not like I glassed right on top of plastic ( which is extreemly flexible... I glassed on foam ( which is for the most part seems to have a bit more integrity than that of just plastic, beign that the resin dries on it and you have to rip the foam to get the resin off of it).. Yes the dash was somewhat flexible but not after what I put on it... I got a hard time thinking that my dash is gonna splinter faster than a rear or front end of a body kit getting 45 - 55 MPH on the interstate Sure she'll move, but What it will be going through wont be half as bad as what a kit would. And in regards to the weight being a problem... When i removed that Airbag... The module and cover alone is about 10-12 lbs alone... Only difference is that the weight from the bag is being dispersed across the etire dash rather than In that one spot. I plan on making some additional brackets for some additional support as well...

Ayways... Ill be dropping off the dash board at my bosses shop in the next week or so so that I can start designing my center console. Hopefully I can get some thing together for you guys to look at :)
