I'm currently in the process of switching out my door panels with some black ones. But I want to paint the bottom plastic piece (what sits around the speaker, not the vinyl) yellow, but from the back it looks like its either glued or welded on. Anyone else have this problem? If so, do you think I'd be able to pry it out and reseal it again using something? Any help is appreciated. Just trying to see if anyone has done this before. Thanks.

just be very thorough. don't paint it in the car either, overspray is a bitch and gets everywhere.

Thanks for the tip. By the way, anyone have experience with replacing the vinyl on door inserts? I've been working on it for a while and its getting annoying because I keep getting creases. I've tried using a hairdryer and cutting small slits around the outside (I saw that in another thread) with no luck. Should I start laying it from the armrest part and then out? Or maybe the bottom or the top and then work my way to the other side?

I took them to a local Mom & Pop furniture maker, charged me 20 bucks. Top notch work, but if you search people recommend using a heat gun, hair dryer is not powerful enough.
