I heard it holds up way better than duplicolor.

Don't think anyone has, but I wouldn't use carpet spray on dye.
I have mine dyed black, via dye (liquid), and I never have to worry about it fading or coming off.

He used a product called Rit. You can buy the stuff at Wal-Mart.

Rit, walmart or even the grocery store, good old everyday fabric dye. it's a little more work than a spray but you could take your stuff out and run it through the washing machine (assuming it'd fit) and it wouldn't fade
