when i pop my hatch , it sticks really bad. i have to have to people to open it. does any one know if this just mis aligned, the hatch struts, or the striker.? also i have a leak drivers side, if you look in the hatch there is the rear left tire well, and a cavity behind there, the water is coming from there, but there is no hole underneath the car... someone told me its actually leaking from the quarter window? any help with these problems greatly appreciated!

Hmm, a better/clearer description would help, but...

Are the hatch "struts" in working order? the rod that goes in the strut could be bent and put up enough friction. Do you also struggle CLOSING your hatch? Maybe the hinges near the roof are just rusty/ need greasing. My hatch was misaligned, it had a big gap on one side and barely any on the other, and I had no trouble openning/closing it, aside from my struts being dead, and that thing being kind of heavy.

no it closes fine, and stays up without the use of a broom stick, its just popping the trunk i have to hold up the lever while some one pulls up on the hatch , and you got to wiggle it a bit to get it to open..

See now THAT helps alot. I bet it had to do with the release mechanish, the cable or the leaver (we are talking about the one next to the drivers seat)

There used to be a fix for that in the write ups page but here we go:

1. Take off the trunk plastic panels.
2. Have some one pull the leaver while you see what goes on in there.
3. The metal cable might have some slack in it, so you will have to adjust it.
4. Im not realy sure on what holds the cable (its a mechanist like the one used for the Throttle body) So loosen the cable pull it and tighten it back up so the line is tense, this should solve your broblem.

haha, when I read the title I thought you were doing a survey to see who needed a stick to hold their hatch open

off topic a little:
who needs a broom stick if you have a 2Ga that you cut the grill out of? that was indeed the best use i found for my grill yet. just prop on sub box and the loop on the hatch and you are good to go.

Pull the cover off and pour some water down the channel the side of the hatch covers, bet it comes from that drain hose, or possibly could be your antenna leaking.

If you have a sunroof it may be worthwhile to take apart the headliner and check all the drain tubes that run back toward the hatch (should be one on each side) if your lucky they are clogged up from dirt/dust over the years and some compressed air will clean that crap out. Worth a shot at checking.
