About 3 weeks ago i was driving my Eclipse in a bad snow storm and i had headlights everything perfect.....The car sat for about 2 weeks and i went to warm the car up before work and i turned the parking lights on and they came on and i went back inside and came back and turned the headlight switch and Nothing.....

I replaced the headlight switch...turned the switch had parking lights flipped it to the low beam nothing....pulled back for high beams and they came on pulled back again for lows and they came on...so car sat for a week b/c of bad weather and i went to try it again and Nothing, the relay under the hood is clicking and working the 40a fuse is good and headlights are connected to its harness. And im starting to run out of things to check....when i bought the car i didn't have any kick pannels or a manual so im not to sure what fuses are what on the inside but i checked every fuse and everything is good...so if you have some advice please let me know......thank you!

well if the relay is working, then it's getting power and has a good ground. not to sound like an ass, but also check to make sure your connections to the bulbs are good. you can get some electrical degreaser crap from any parts store. worth a shot since road grime can kill an electrical system...been there and done that. trust me. hope that helps you out or atleast points you in the right direction.

Update.......The headlight wiring harness is okay all bulbs work...im getting power to my fuse box (under the hood) but i'm only getting power when i by pass the relay, which that is telling me that the relay is bad so i replaced it...still same thing no headlights when i turn them on, just parking lights....so is that telling me that the switch is bad??? IDK....but when i bypass the relay and i flip the high beams on then the high beams come on....im just so pissed at this. IF you have any more suggestions please send them my way.......

Test your switch? I'd do that before you throw and more money at it.

how are you bypassing the relay? the relay connects your headlights directly to the battery when it receives the "signal" from your switch. if by bypass you mean you're sending power directly to the headlights then that doesn't tell you much other than that the wires from the battery to the headlights are good.

try activating the relay directly. this will tell you if the problem lies with the switch. apply a current over the coil of the relay. if this turns activates the relay and turns on the headlights then the relay and power wires are fine. the problem then lies either with the wiring from the switch to the relay or the switch itself. from there you just work your way "upstream". or was it "downstream".. i think our cars use a (-) ground signal for lights...

i hope by bypass you don't mean you're connecting the switch directly to the headlight. the wiring inside the dash is not made for that kind of current and will melt/start a fire. that's why there's a relay.
