Decided that since half of my motor was out of the engine bay, now would be my time to get it looking super clean and shiny again. Last spring I flat black spray painted it and it looked, but now it just looks like it came out of the factory that was painted black. here are some pics. just wait until you guys see what will be filling the open space in a couple more weeks :)

I have a nice camera. Dont you see how good the first pic came out!? I have a Kodak 6.1 megapixel camera I bought from Target like 6 months ago for $400. Pictures are great. Problem was it was taking forever to load the pics onto imageshack after the first one so I changed the MG on them on InfranView and then all those other pics got f'd up after i tried to change them. let me fix this!

I see you didnt remove the nuts on the shock mounts before painting.....Shame on you.

Gloss black look nicer than flat black definitly.

Its blue but will be two-toned w/ black in about 2 months.

Terry, I didnt remove those bolts mainly because my strut bar covers all that. Lol.

Gloss black does look a lot better then the flat black I had last spring.

Nothing wrong with flat black. I think the flat looks better, actually, since it sets the focus on the siny engine sitting in the bay.

Flat black does look nice too, thats why I did it that color last spring, but I like things shiny :)

yea but as soon as shiney black gets some kind greese or anything on it its gana look like shit IMO. looks good tho but ima stick to my flat black ;-D

Grease? In the engine bay??? Yikes!

I found flat black was much more order keep clean IMO. If you got some oil on it, you wipe it and leaves a streak. You then try to smear it away, and causes even more smudges. Then you maybe whip out some brake cleaner or other solvent at your choice, and unless you cleared you flat black which I doubt anyone does, the solvent smudges the flat black and even brings it off onto you rag.

On the other hand, with my base coat clear coat shiny black, I can smear it right off in 2 seconds, no need for any solvent or extra elbow grease :) Just IMO and .02 because I have indeed went with flat black and now base, clear black.
