I currently have aftermarket power window kit on my rs. I have been wanting to change the door panels to the gs panels.

When I tried to fit the gs panels, I noticed that the original manual door handle crank piece hits the panels. So what have you done to make the panels fit? Please be specific. TIA

If that peice is not needed by the aftermarket kit, pull out the hacksaw.

Have you actually done the swap?

I can not just cut the piece, because the ribs on that crank piece actually rolls/move the window.

I made the mistake of not making the time to DO it myself and took it to an auto electrician. They did an AWESOME job on the wiring and everthing, but completely ignored the instruction i gave them "DO NOT CUT A HOLE IN THE PANEL, you can push the crank in, so the panel can fit, call me if you need any help"... long story short, they cut a hole where the crank goes and put in the little plugs that come with the spal kit. Go out take a look at it yourself and push it n before you take it to an auto electric, if you are doing that.

i have the spal kit and gs panels . i didnt have a problem . maybe you can push the manual crank back a little ? i do have a problem with the spal door popper selenoids rubbing against the window and door panel when it about half way down . i would love a solution to that problem .

my passenger side rubs a bit sometimes and pops out occasionally if i use the window a lot. otherwise they fit pretty good.

yea, i believe there is. since i never did do it myself, but i did read alot about it, all i can say is: follow the crank into the door. The spal kit also came with some spacers that members have used for that same purpose. Ill see if i can fish up all the threads i read and ill post it here.

it has been a while since i did the install . i check tommorow . i already have my door panel off .

yea i dont remember either. its been a long time and my car is in storage for another few months :\

if you can weld then you can prolly cut the crank and reattach the spline portion. or actually just cut part of it off and use a different means of attaching the motor to the remaing portion of crank. you could possible notch it yourself or something too. i doubt you're planning on transplanting the motor to another car in the future so you're not really rectricted to only use the little adapters that came with the spal kit. make it a more permanent connection.
