Yesterday night I noticed that all of a sudden half of my speedometer doesn't light up (basically from around 60-140). I'm guessing most likely one of the bulbs that light up the gauge cluster is out, since my tach lights up fine and the left side of the speedometer lights up as well. I was doing a search to see how to get to those bulbs but found a few posts saying the dash needed to be removed and others saying that was not necessary. Looks to me like there's no way of getting to the gauges without taking off the dash (i saw now way of removing the clear plastic that covers the gauges) can anyone confirm this for me? I really dont want to to tru the hassle of taking apart the dash cos I know me and I'll mess something up so I guess if thats the case I'll have to live with only half a speedometer lit up....

All you have to do is unscrew the two screws holding the gauge bezel in, then take that out. Then unscrew the 4 screws that hold that actual gauge cluster in place. Then pull the gauge cluster out (there are no wires attached to it it just plugs in). The bulbs can be accessed from the back of the cluster. Hell no you don't have to take the dash out that would suck!

I know exactly how you feel. At work whenever I hop into a new honda and see the bright white guages, it makes me ache for em.

you can buy the white face gauges off ebay for cheap. there super easy to put in and look sweet (esspeciallyt at night)

Why in the hell can't they make reverse glow gauges like this for non-turbo cars!...



The only ones that I have found that they make for the RS and GS have the bright blue circle on the inside of the gauges. I know the above ones will fit but that would be pretty ghetto.
