96448, I need some help deciding which looks best for interior Posted by OrangeGlow, Sep-10-06 07:46 AM
Hey guys. I have spent about 2 weeks going back and fourth on which door panels to install on my car, so i decided to buy a set of door panels the fiberglass armor style ones for my eclipse. I put them on and after about a week i that the glass they made it with was too thin and was not going to be durable enough for my uses. Before changing my mind and ordering carbon fiber door panels, I took the time to fiberglass the actual mount of the AC vent which is in the door panel into the aftermarket panel. After changing my mind and deciding on going to get the carbon fiber door panels, I started fiberglassing the interior pieces so that i can paint them orange, and began to wonder if I should glass the air vent on this door into the panel and 2-tone paint the panel with it moulded in, or should i simply paint everything around it orange paint the ac vent black and simply put them back together. Thanks!
> The first pices should be of my old panels , then a few close ups or the panels, to the bottom should be the project I am currently on.

I seen those on ebay, they are pretty extreme looking-
ugly in my opinion.

those panels are originally team prototype's design. people started making copies and selling them on ebay for cheaper. i was actually gonna buy a pair but ended up losing all my money to a stupid casino... is your interior black? personally, i'd paint the panels black and paint the little pieces to match the exterior. but to be honest, i would repaint the whole car something else cause orange is very very ugly IMO.

ya i went with fiberglass not because it looked better, but its a hell of a lot easier to fix. I worked at a body shop for a couple of years and i spent a lot of time fixing people's kits and whatnot, but man my CF panels are the way to go, but they look hella clean without having the seam between the ac vent and the insert for the door :)
