Okay maybe some of you can help me out here.

I have my old fiberglass dashboard that was painted factory black, and then I gave it to a buddy of mine to try and do something with, but anyhow make a long story short, he sprayed a couple of coats of primer or something on it and then I went to paint it for him and it all bubbled up. My guess is that he didnt scuff down the clear or something from the original black that I had it. Now my question is, what can I use to get all this paint and primer or whatever he used off and back down to the original black that I had done it in? I thought about paint stripper, but that shit is soo strong, I bet it will eat right through the shit he used, and then through the black and start eating the fiberglass right away! I tried pouring some Laquer Thinner on it and it didnt do much. I need something I can like put on a rag and wipe all the shit right off. Does anyone have any good idea's of anything that would work? Mike it sounds like he used an incompatible primer with your paint. Maybe he sprayed with aerosol which is actually laquer and not compatible with Chroma based paints due to th solvents that work their way from the lacquer. The only time you can spray over lacquer is when its 12 years older or more and you lay down a sealant. I honestly think thats what happened. You do not need to strip the clear to paint over it. Only good scuffing and cleaning, then prime, seal and paint.

To strip it, your kinda screwwed. Start sanding.
