I have spoiler holes from where my old spoiler was but all the body shops said they dont want to weld them close because the metal is to thin and it will warp it. I dont want to just glob bondo in there because it will end up cracking through the paint. What did you guys do to get rid of the old holes?

weld . use a wet rag and it wont warp .

mine were welded shut

Most people weld it with no probs. If it does warp slightly, a thin layer of bondo will fix all that...

BTW, does anyone know the easiest way to fill spoiler holes on a car you don't care about? They just need to be closed to keep water out because the spoiler is cracked. You think some jb weld would do it? Actually, I think I may have answered my own question. I filled holes in the spare tire well (from drilling out the spare tire bracket) using cold weld (along with masking tape underneath it), and it's held up fine...

weld it just make sure to keep the metal as cool as possable, i did a little bit on one hole then moved to another hole and i kept a bucket of water that i kept puting on the metal around it too keep it cold, then u will need a thin coat of bondo or putty ontop

dont weld atall, put some plastic matting underneath the hole and fiberglass it in with durglass fiberglas filler, or bondo, bond over the top, sand till smooth??? thats what idid

No offense, but that is a method that may work initially, but can easily crack over time. Welding is really the only way to truly repair it. One way to know if you have a good or not so good body shop is to ask them this exact question, and see what their answer is...

just have it welded up man if they know what they are doing it won't be a problem.

Yea definitely get it welded. If you use fiberglass and bondo it will eventually shrink and you will see the imperfections. Do it right the first time so you won't be kicking yourself in the ass later.

theyre not skilled enough then, ask a diff shop.
