95899, Just finished wrapping visors! Posted by VOTBLINDUB, Jul-29-06 04:18 PM
Finally, I am alsost done. Using carpet paint is a bad idea, stay away from that crap. I used moleskin cloth and wrapped my visor. Soon ill post the photos of everything in and in its place, looking proper. heres how i did the visors for those interested. I am also willing to do the same to yours for a small fee, if you dont want to take em to a shop or cant do it yourself. let me know what you think :) http://www.imagestation.com/album/pictures.html?id=2124769811&idx=35 http://www.imagestation.com/album/pictures.html?id=2124769811&idx=36 http://www.imagestation.com/album/pictures.html?id=2124769811&idx=37 http://www.imagestation.com/album/pictures.html?id=2124769811&idx=38 http://www.imagestation.com/album/pictures.html?id=2124769811&idx=39 http://www.imagestation.com/album/pictures.html?id=2124769811&idx=40 http://www.imagestation.com/album/pictures.html?id=2124769811&idx=41 http://www.imagestation.com/album/pictures.html?id=2124769811&idx=42

Looks real good, any reason you say the fabric dye is a bad idea, b/c I was thinking of doing that?

absolutely, i tried it and what it does is clump the fibers, it only darkens the fabric, it doesnt make it jet black. it feels rough to touch and you see clumps of dye, even if you use a brush to brush it in. it came out like poop, so i just wrapped it. sure it took longer, but the difference is huge. the fabric i have feels much nicer that stock. they actually make pants out of that stuff, its called moleskin. it feels silky inside and has a very soft and nice bristle outside, its real short so stuff doesnt clump it up and doesnt get caught it in. like i told my friend, if you put your face against it, its like touchin girl butt :)i also dont need to stich anything, no glue, no staples or anything like that, i just tuck it all into the seam. no fumes to deal with, no mess, just some small cloth pieces that yu trim off, thats all, its very clean.

Looks pretty good, but tucking material in a seam, doesn't sound too durable?

tucking it should be perfect, thats exactly how the factory ones are. Did you not cutout for the visor clips though?
heres mine, a LOT of visors are tucked BTW.

and not to be a dick but you died your carpet and want to talk about durable haha, im playin, but thats just my point of view.

all the visors are tucked, if u spread it open and pull the factory cloth even, itll come out, theres a spring in side or something like that, it makes it damn near impossible to open, it holds really really hard.
