okay. i am working on making the headliner red to match the car and to get rid of that random grey color that doesnt match anything and looks plain weird. so far ive used 3m for adhesive but that let go. i used a different adhesive and i just left the headliner the in the basement to lay around and set. i dont think that will be problematic once the glue sets. i was wondering about visors. i found out that they are two ply, basically like a taco. i have been busting my ass trying to peel that thing open but it wont go. i can get a flathead in but once i comes out the visor snaps shut. so far ive managed to pull out that metal rod that it swivels on, and got it halfways back in, i cant figure out how the hell to open that tihng. i want to open it cuz i can wrap it in black, so it will look very nice, no seams and the cloth will go around the mirror so itll all be like factory, just in black. idk if they made them in black with cloth interiors, maybe i should just find two of those instead. but i totally dont mind wrapping mine. ill post some links of how i did the headliner. the explanations are under the photos once u open them. i was also thinking of dyeing the carpet on the visors like it is explained here ---->http://forums.2gnt.com/dcboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=7&topic_id=95484&mesg_id=95484&page=

Joann's, i think its a chain store. You can find fabric in most arts and crafts stores like AC Moore or Michaels, stuff like that.

do not pry the visors apart or you will just end up breaking them. You can tuck the material around without removing anything. You may or may not be able to keep the mirror sometimes its not an option, I took mine out. Here are some pics for future since this has been brought up many times, and i've also got multiple pms, My headliner is done right over the stock one, visors the material was stripped and the mirrors are under the fabric. Also someone asked me a while back what it looked like w/o the trim ring for the sunroof.







also why did you trace out your old material, its soooo much easier just to lay it out glue it (with the correct glue, not that shit you used) and stretch and trim. The old one is not necessarily gonna be the right pattern after its been stretched off and hanging down for a while.

EDIT- Yes i have a grey pillar im lookin for an avenger one w/o the grab handle hole =) so until then deal with my mismatchedness.

i didnt trace my old material out. heres what happened. when i did the headliner a few days for the first time, i was told to use the incorrect glue, so i went with the 3m all purpose adhesive. it was fine for like a day an a half, then when it got to 98 outside and prolly some more inside the car, it just all let go, except the edges, so i ended up with an upside down red bubble in the car hangin over my head. when i put on the new fabric it bonded to the old grey fabric and i cant peel em apart. i decided to just leave it there. when i ripped it all off yesterday i found out what let go. it was the foamy shit on the backing. this stuff got baked in the sub over the years and it was crumpling out. i had to clean it out. thats the stuff that look like tacomeat in the photos.

i had to get that off the backing and the back of the factory cloth, in the pic you see both of em stuck together so it looked traced. your pics look nice, but im wondering how that material feels to touch. it looks a little rough, but maybe its just the way the pics look. when i was picking out my material i went for the nice sot velvetty feeling material, so its nice to touch. i do realize im not going to be sleeping on that, but still, i wanted to find something that feels nice. what did you use to tuck in the fabric, just a flathead screwdriver?

both headliners look clean and great, can you use just any cloth material? I've redone my carpet and my seats, most of the interior panels and im doing my gauges next week, need to do the headliner tan looks terrible with blue and black. R34 was it work losin the mirrorson the visors?

u can use a flathead but it will take forever, use a carpet tucking tool and it makes it quick, you'll still need a flathead prolly for the sharper corners and tight places.
