Ok, don't want to be a dick, but I noticed you've been here since 2004 and didn't use the search. Here's my first attempt and quite an informative post to your question:

But to help, here are the options: 1.) Do as R34 said, best results. 2.) Dupont/Dupli-Color vinyl and carpet paint. It works but has been proven to wear over time.

such a recent influx of carpet dyers and interior painters, hope my black conversion isnt to blame, lol . Adhesion promotor along with duplicolor paints are your best bet if you cant get the OEM parts in black . Nothing will ever be as good as the OEM part in black but you can get very good results.

I suggest hitting up a junkyard and practicing on some scrap pieces from a wrecked eclipse and make sure the results are to your liking.

I used Rit dye and triple dyed the carpet. Been holding up for a year. Probably because it's real dye and not spray.

nobody ever said it doesn't look good when you do it, but take a pic of that carpet 6 months from now after its been to use. Like above if you use a real dye, i think it may hold up better, the spray on will always be just that and wont work to hold up in my opinion. And like the other thread recently said its only $100 for brand new black carpet, so cmon spend the extra do it right, don't worry about IF it will look good or not

I'm all about respect, so I address whom I'm speaking to properly. Does this piss you off? My above comment was a joke, when the car that I spray dyed is barely driven then it is in no way half assed imo, just logical.
