ok i keep seeing all clear tails, and i want them extremly bad. i know about baking em in the oven and pulling them apart, i got a set of regular altezzas and 2 stock so i can mess up. i wanted to take all the red out of the stock any body have any ideas or help regaurding removing the color.

The clear tails you see are manufactured (and discontinued) as far as I know there is no way to take the red out of the stock lights.

I just got an idea though.

I don't know if it's been done, But you could try to take your clear altezza covers and put them on the eclipse stock backing's i don't know if that would work, and you wwould still see red bulbs and you wouldn't have refelctors but if you want clear tails, your going to have to either...

A. Get super lucky, and shell out a lot of $$

B. Make your own.

That wont work. The tails are butt ugly inside whereas the aftermarket clears have a chrome housing on the inside.
The all clears pop up on ebay once in a while and sell for under $200, but hard to find. I had a BRAND NEW set I sold for 250-300 last year.

thanks for the suggestions that sucks cause i really like them lights but not trying to spend that kind of money im going to try something and see how it goes any one know the temp off hand to put the tails in the oven for and about how long

I saw a pair for sale here a while ago... but like someone mentioned above, you'll have to dish out some money for them.

Leave them stock or black them out, clear looks bufugly.

Try 250 degrees and bump it up a little more if they're not coming apart but I wouldn't go over 300. Also turn the oven off while the lights are in it and you might want to put them on a piece of wood or something not metal.

Don't treat these parts like you are popping open headlights. The tail lights are way more sensitive to overheating and warping the lens from excess heat since they are thinner lenses and not designed to take the heat like a headlight lens has to survive.

I don't go over 200F and like suggested do NOT leave the oven turned on while the part is in there. Pre-heat the oven, turn it off and then insert the part. Once the sealer has softened about 5-10 minutes gently start to lift at the pointy end. Do NOT force it or you will see a crack shoot across the lens and ruin it. I use popsicle sticks to help hold the lens up out of the glue and put it back in the oven for a few cycles until it all release cleanly. Most people crack or warp a tail light on their first try so be prepared.
