I am currently looking for a nice eclipse and have recently come across a 95 with only 67000 miles. Now what I'm wondering is how hard is it to switch out the front/back bumpers and sideskirts for the 97-99 versions? I don't like the 95-96 look and I won't purchase the car unless I can switch out those parts myself. Thanks.

not hard at all. completely bolt on.

plus, once you have the stock bumpers taken off the first time, you can reinstall them using about 1/4 of the amount of bolts they come attached with from the factory, thus making future tasks much quicker and easier.

Yea its not very hard. The side skirts might be a bit of a challenge to find though.

The front bumper is really easy, I can take my front bumper off in about 5 minutes no kidding. Undo a few bolts and it slides rite out. Here is a link to azdaves write up on the front bumper removal. Also I dont see the rear bumper being much harder.

don't forget you need new lights as well.

front bumper
rear bumper
side skirts
headlights
reverse lights


idk if the door caps are the same. the sideskirts don't look that different anyways though so you could prolly just keep the 95-96 ones if you wanted.

u have to do some fabricationg if ur going from a talon to eclipse. see my picture. its easy though. yellow lines are where the eclipse style bumpr bolts up. i know your talking about an eclipse so really its a useless post, but jsut throwing it up there.

Actually this is what I needed to know for my Talon. I wanna put the eclipse rear on there and I have read the write up but this pic helps a whole lot more Thanks.

Not hard at all,

First go and buy the Haynes Manuel on 95 thru 99 dsm's

and again this will save you some bling $$$$$ go to this site below they have the front/rear and side skirts

or wings west sells oem style urethane side skirts that are one piece that come with the door caps

Yep it's definitely one of the easiest mods I did, and made the most difference in the appearance.
