I don't like the tone you went with, but it would definitely match the rest of your car better.

Very, Very Well Done... Much respect... Do you have an angle where the sun is hittin' it, rather than the angle where the shadow is shown? If so, I'd like to see it... Also, if you don't mind me askin', what did you use to spray with (what tools, I don't know anythin' about spray paintin')?
Peace, Jem

Ill have to wash her up tomorrow and take a few. theres still some detail work needed to be done thats why i just took a few shots. I just did alot or reading up and studying and i used a syphone fed gun with an 8 gallon compressor, shot at about 45psi, sanded everything down smooth primed sanded painted sanded painted sanded painted, buffed. still havent clearcoated yet but its shinny as hell. clear coat will help protect the paint and add more shine. other than that im new as hell to this. I just wanted to try it out see how things went and i feel they went well. Its probably not a perfect job im sure professionals would see errors i made and im not gonna enter it into any contests but i think i did good, better then macco would have done imo joe

Looks good. I would have gone with a darker hue, but it looks really smooth!
Nice work.

93922, RE: Sneak-Peak (Update) Posted by boosted60trimrst, Dec-31-69 06:00 PM
you should get a hvlp gravity gun . works a lot better and uses less paint . also you should always clear it right after the color flashes .
|
93924, RE: Sneak-Peak (Update) Posted by joeck76, Dec-31-69 06:00 PM
cool thanks for the tip, but what if you dont clear it right after the color flashes? and you clear it later whats the down side? ill have to try a gravity fed gun one day, i just always herd that the syphon fed guns were easier? i guess you live and you learn, theres always next time but thanks for the input joe

You did put a lot of work in to the paint and it is hard. I am giving you respect for that. But for some reason to me the car looks like a big toy??? The paint is not reflective is it going to be reflective after the clear coat?
P.S. I don't know jack about painting just giving my opinion.
|
93936, RE: Sneak-Peak (Update) Posted by joeck76, Dec-31-69 06:00 PM
No problem i said all input so that means positive and negative. i do believe why its not super reflective is because the clearcoat is not on yet but it is very shinny and somewhat reflective. definatly not dull and the paint is very smooth all over. Again this was more or so an attempt to make my car look better and i think it worked, i certinally like it alot better. But i know its not a professional job, im not a professional. ill be sure to post more pics after i clear and we will see than what happens thanks again. oh and btw, this is my toy so to me thats good it looks like a big toy lol joe

I like it, I bet it will look great after the clear coat. Can I suggest getting clear corner markers, I think it would go better with the blue.

i think that after u get the clearcorners, post a pic up and get it photoshopped with nightshaded clear corners, and nightshaded rear lights... i think that out of all colors this would look the best with hnightshaded lights because the red and the blue isnt my favorite, other than that i mean damn it looks nice, and definately some mad props.

I agree, I think if you nightshade the tail lights and corners, and get that clear on, it'll improve car a lot.

93956, RE: Sneak-Peak (Update) Posted by joeck76, Dec-31-69 06:00 PM
what is and how do you exactly night shade your tail lights?

its a spray can, like spray paint really and you just spray light coats of it on your lenses...
|
93960, RE: Sneak-Peak (Update) Posted by boosted60trimrst, Dec-31-69 06:00 PM
the downside of not clearing right after is the clear coat has less to bite into and can cause lifting . the fact that its shiney now is most likely cause theres a lot of paint on the panels . but you definitly need to clear it or there will be no protection for the paint .
|
93962, RE: Sneak-Peak (Update) Posted by joeck76, Dec-31-69 06:00 PM
cool yeah im gonna clear her tomorrow, and thanks for the info on night shading joe

93965, RE: Sneak-Peak (Update) Posted by DSM_John, Dec-31-69 06:00 PM
Not exactly sure how 'extreme' you'd want to go, but...
Instead of matching the tails to black and having a black/blue color combo, you could match the wheels instead. Here is an integra painted with the laguna seca blue. Just throwing out another possibility.

93968, RE: Sneak-Peak (Update) Posted by joeck76, Dec-31-69 06:00 PM
