Ok, I have an HID conversion on my 98 eclipse, and one of the ballasts just stopped working so I ordered a replacement. The new problem is that everytime I power on my headlights it immedatly burns out the fuse. the bulb is good and if I do not connect the ballast the single light works just fine. It is the right type of ballast as far as I know, I just can't seem to figure it out. Please let me know any ideas you have, I am stumpped.

What fuse, fuse to yoru harness or the cars main headlight fuse. What are you using for a tap in point? Where is your ground? What gauge wiring did you use for all power wire on your harness? Give use specifics that way we can better trouble shoot this.

The fuse is the 40amp main headlight fuse, it is entirely a plug and play kit that connects up to the stock 9006 plug. I ran some tests on the new ballast and the only thing that I can come up with is that for some reason the ballast came wired backward from the factory and my current is reversed. I will try and rewire it today to test that theory out. But if there are any other suggestions I would still like to hear them.

yes check the wires. If its backwards they will blow. Also make sure the ballast isnt shorted somewhere.

My guess is you either got another bad one or it is wired in reverse.

I got it working, I cut off my 9006 plug and hooked the positive up to negative and negative up to positive and now I have two working headlamps again. I guess I should know from experience that if you find exactly what you need for cheap on ebay chances are there is something wrong with it. It was probably some part that got RMA's for being messed up and resold on ebay for cheap.
