93563, Searched a bit, can't seem to find it, another door handle question Posted by Keith2172, Apr-13-06 06:05 AM
Ok, so the inevitable happened yesterday, I was going out to the car and when I grabbed the door handle to open the door, guess what happened? Oh yeah, it broke! So now I figure, I might as well replace it with something better, like say, metal. So I do a search on metal door handles and the most applicable thing I can come up with is AZDaves repair, which is good, but I'm thinking more of a completely metal handle, prefferably aluminum, so I can polish it and achieve that OG, true baller, JdM TyTE YO! effect. Can't seem to find it, does anyone make something like this, I would figure by now someone would have made a mold or something, anyways, help is appreciated, I don't want to have to reuse the plastic handles.

you're right, I should have done more searching, but it doesn't seem that they got their door handles. Anywhere else I could get something like that?

Well you know my opinion of course....
Here is a quick way to see if you like the look of an aluminum handle. Get some dead soft aluminum tape from a home store. It's used for repairing duct work in the heating and cooling trade. Apply it to the handle and go over it with a little Scotchbrite for an brushed aluminum look or polish it with Mothers polish for a refective look. Clear coat it with a rattle can and try it for a few days... or forever.

I didn't realize that was your kit I mailed out this morning.
Thanks for the purchase. I sent $5 from the sale to 2GNT. Can't do that all the time but hopefully it helps.
I do know a guy here in Phoenix that did get the aluminum handles. I'll ask him if he wants to part with them. He has a re-paint in the schedule and maybe he'll go full body color handles. Doesn't hurt to ask.
