Ok I am fairly new to doing bodywork. I havent done much of any to tell the truth. I dont remember what cause this dent, but it has been there too long. I started sanding on it, as you can see, and this is where I am. What do I need to do to fix it??? Can it be fixed?? I really dont like taking my car to a shop and I think I can do it myself if someone walks me through it. Any help is appreciated.

do you own any of the proper tools to fix that dent?

I have no idea what I need. Tell me what I need and I can probably get the tools somehow.

Id think youd atleast need a puller to start with.

What kind of puller am I looking for?? Is there just one...if I ask for a puller for a dent??? Also I have heard of using a hot glue gun or even welding something on there to pull it. Whats you take on those approaches? Sorry like I said I really dont know anything about bodywork.

yea urtalking bout a uni spotter (stud welder) makes the job easier but u can also use a regular dent puller(slide hammer)too

When I fixed the dent on my 1/4 pannel I had zero body work experience and it turned out just fine. What I did was took off the rear interior trim pieces where I could access the dent from behind. Then I took a hammer and just kept banging and pounding on it until it was somewhat straight again. Then I just layed some bondo over it all and sanded it until it all the lines matched back up.

I got lucky because I could get to the dent from inside the car but I bet you can do the same if you take your door panel off.

Now lookin at the dents a lil more, you might wanna stray from using a normal puller where you have to drill holes. Remember you speaker is right there, amongst Im sure other things.
If I were you, Id get the speaker and stuff outta the way and try to roll the dent out as much as possible.
As for the dent below the door, I would prolly try to build that up with some fiberglass unless it is too deep, the I would use a puller on that.

remeber to use a dolly dont just bang the dent out with a hammer

Get it down to bare metal so the fiberglass/filler will stick.

They do also have dent pullers that are just strong suction cups, diameter is around 5-6 inches. But those pullers don't work too well on our cars because of how strong/thick the metal is.

I used a slide puller on mine, I had it right there, just remove the speaker because you'll need to put primer on the inside of it where you drilled anyway.

I want to get one of those that they show on tv where it tack welds something to it for the slide puller instead of drilling a hole and screwing something in.

Thats what I am thinking is using a tack weld so I dont have holes. I am going to go pick up a slide puller from a friend. I will see what I can do and post the results. Kinda scary my first attempt at body work and its on my baby......

It's not that hard. Here's a piece of advice (which you probably already know), use a block. My neighbor who was helping me with mine never told me that until 2 days before it was supposed to be painted... A block would have saved me a LOT of time, and it wouldn't have come out so wavy... You'd understand if you saw my car.

the tack weld thing is called a uni-spotter it works great . it welds pins onto the car . then slide hammer locks on and pull softly while massageing the metel around it with a finishing hammer . work from the outside in . weld the pins spiraling out from the center of the dent . when you get it almost all the way out then snip the pins off and grind down the stubs . then its time for bondo or even 2 part glazing putty if you pull the dent out real good . a uni spotter is also used for metel heat shrinking on creases in the metel or if its warped a lil .
