Hi, I bought a pair of low beam headlight bulbs from autozone named Phillips, and it advertises as "Blue" however they look basically same to me as before, only during night you can see a little bit of blue. I want to know if this is common, because a friend of mine with 84 Z28 bought them and his is pretty blue. Is it because of our silver housing withing the headlight, that reflects the light back, then forward? I didnt see that silver cap on high beam, only on low beam. I like my stock headlights and dont need projects or anything like that, but i'd like it if they were a lil bit more blue-ish.

Not sure why. I used to have the Sylvania SilverStars, but I kept burning them out on the drivers side (one every month or two), and $20 a bulb was getting too much.

I have the Sylvania CoolBlue's and they are not blue either. I think it's the coating on the bulb that allows them to say that. My beam is white, not yellowish. Which is good, I can still see farther than the normal bulb, but not as far as with the SilverStar's.

I have no idea how people get the blue headlights, I don't want them... I just bought those "CoolBlue's" because they were cheap.

What you both really want are HID's... Wink :)

Eh, my fiance has them on her car (HID and projectors), and while they are good, they don't seem to go as far as regular headlights... and on hilly roads, well, you can't see if there is a deer coming up.

Well, I want HID, but I don't want projectors. How about that?

hmm i was thinking about projectors but i took my mind off of it, but are they "better" as in more visibility comparing to our stocks, cuz i heared some stories they arent all that. Just wondering

check out either ebay or a performance store to get the ones that appear slightly blue. the ones your friend bought are more than likely a sealed beam not a halogen so that's why they appear more blue.

95 ESI Person - The silver stars should have atleast a 90 day warrany on them so if you're blowing them you can swap them out. At the Advance Auto Parts I worked at, when they started with the 90 day, we swapped them out as long as they had the receipt or it was in their history.

Projectors ebay wise suck ass. You need true projectors that were ment for HIDs, and it all depends on the setup some are better than others. Search the forums here you will find lots of posts with lots of pictures. Or goto HIDPlanet.com, you will find lots of info. And while you may want HIDs in yoru stock projectors you may get high beamed because light scatters on a reflector where projectors focus. I will never go back to halogens, because it really is.. a night and day difference.

Are they adjusted right? My OEM HID and projectors light up the road like crazy.

So basically the best and probably most exensive way is to get HID and projectors? I am not really horny about having awesome headlights, but if thats the best way to go, I'm just gonna wait untill i get the money for it. Thanks guys

Those headlights seriously don't do crap. Same thing with the Sylvania bubls labelled "cool blue".

If you want an awesome blue tint to your bubls, check out the APC bulbs at O'reilly's.

Seriously.

Just stray away from anything else with the APC label.

I was searching to find some lights for my '97. I guess after a few years, the halogens just get dimmer and dimmer without you noticing until it's raining and it's really dark! I was thinking about these bulbs from xenonlightshid.com. They're only $15. Does anybody have any experience with these lights?
