92864, Power Window Conversion slightly off...its all good tho Posted by edxmon, Mar-11-06 10:25 AM
Well took my car to an auto electric, to install power window and locks with the stock switches and power door skins. i specifically told him the window crank would have to be moved back a bit...lo and behold, there is now a hole in my new door skins...with a black plug on it x( well, first i didnt notice it at all, but when i did my heart stopped for a second...i just sat there thinking about it, i mean he did a great job...all the switches do what they are supposed to do, window lock disables the pass. side. my door lock switch locks the doors, everything is great, my car even idles better now i think :D , but why, why did he do it...ahh well, its not THAT bad...but those skins cost me $40 a piece, i guess i can always buy 2 more and move the crank back myself...Anyways, recommended mod 100% for any 2gnter, now i need that turbo wing, 97-99 skirts from wings west and a paint job and ill be done with int/ext.
P.S. as some of you remember i had my door inserts re-upholstered red, looks and feels great, ill post some pics ASAP.

im still pondering over the damned holes...it would just be childish to buy new door skins for that reason, but its a luxury, that if i can afford, i think i probably deserve, well, the camera i borrowed from mauricio, member him?, i gave back, i need to ask for it back or ill just call u up so u can see em.
EDIT: well im a lil more at peace with myself now, i found a good reason to have that hole there, in case the hole set up goes to the shitter in the middle of some undesirable weather i can always grab my crank handles from the glove box and hand crank those bitches back up...ahhhhh, makes me feel a bit better.... :)
