92374, Proper way to upgrade/install new muffler tips?
Posted by edxmon, Feb-08-06 12:52 PM
As u guys know, and its on my sig., i bought a GST muffler some months back. the only thing i dont like about it is that the tips are too small for the opening in the rear bumper. i saw some nice looking bigger round tips at autozone, and i would like to know how to properly put them on. i often see cars with the stock rusted tip inside their shinny chromed tips, and it looks Fugly. Altho, they say they are bolt on because u can just tighten them on with the 3 screws they have. heres a pic i had posted before of my rear end, all advice will be greatly appreciated! P.S. Chamuko i just emailed you again, if u want to u can call me at (619)773-4189, and well settle this deal. :thumbsup

The proper way would be to cut the old nasty ones off and weld on the news ones. You going to get that car painted? If you find any good shops locally let me know man ;)

well, i think the tips i want to put are a bit bigger so theyll fit over the hole if they are cut, would they have to be coupled with like a cone shapped adaptor piece of pipe? ill prolly just take it to jeraulds mufflers right next to perry ford,. and as for the paint i found a place that will paint my whole car for $700 with 4 year warranty. lemme know if ur interested, its by the police station. i cant find the card right now but lemme know if u wanna meet up, or u also got my number in the previous post. if anything else lets meet up and lemme drive ur GSX for a bit yea?:D

Well, I guess I would have to see the tips your talking about, but you can probably have them just fit them to the muffler by welding it direcly on, or welding a little extra, like hinge or something for them to screw on.
