91545, PIC REQUEST
Posted by eclipse7782, Dec-29-05 12:10 PM
I just purchased a 2g high rise spoiler for my 1997 eclipse gs. The holes have already been filled from the low rise spoiler. I was hoping someone could post pics of inside the hatch where the bolts go to hold on the high rise spoiler. It would be much appreciated.
Thanks,

Don't got one of the underside, but got one from above with measurements.

Wow, I didn't think that pic of my car with the measurements would start getting circulated for help lol! Anyways, I'll look through my stuff and see if I still have one of the underside of the hatch

I have not personally looked yet, but there should be tabbed areas on the underside for your to drill. If not, then ignore my thread.

If you look on the underside there are premarked spots where you drill in to mount. On both sides of the hatch towards the front of the car you will see an oval looking mark that is sort of rubbery feeling. Drill that out and you have the mounting point for the tip of the wing. The other spot is a little harder to drill because there is sheet metal over it but there is a circle cut out just drill through the deck and your good. If I had the time to take a picture for you I would. But its not bad at all very strait forward if you find those marks I just explained.

I purchased the screws for the wing through Satan should i use anything besides the screws to hold it down? like 3m adhesive strips or anything?
Thanks,

I'm sure you could use some kind of thin adhesive backed pad like the factory uses. Every factory and aftermarket spoiler that I have encountered has some sort of pad on it. It will dampen vibration and can potentially keep the wing from scratching the paint underneath. I say find some and use it.

I uploaded some pics to a website: http://www.showoffcars.com/Mitsubishi/Eclipse/eclipse7782/mypage.php?member=eclipse7782&mode=c
I have no idea how to upload pics on this site. If someone could take the pic and circle where the bolts go I would greatly appreciate it. I think I found the rubbery spot where the front bolts for the spoiler go, but I am unsure where the back bolts for the spoiler go.

Did you have to cut the hatch open to install the wing? I would circle them for you, but I can't really tell which ones are which.

No i didnt cut the hatch open for the wing, it was cut open for a screen i installed. I wish dsm tuners was up so i could post pics in a forum over there the site i posted at are low quality. I found the 2 holes for the front the rubber area u were talking about. Do i remove the rubber and there are indents on where to drill the holes or is the rubber just the area to drill?

Asked this question on DSM tuners and added pics to the site as well.
