91480, got my body kit
Posted by FunRS, Dec-23-05 11:31 PM
I know there are people who say just leave it stock. But I can't. So I got a EVO front Blitz low side skirts and Buddy club rear and a stock carbon fiber hood for a grand total of $881.68. I'm hopeing these was a good deal. But it dose help when one of the biggest supplers of body kits for the east coast is here. Thay were very cool and helpful. The name is Aerotrends. Well hope every one has a very mery christmas and a happy new year.

Good to hear about Aerotrend working out. I have an EVO5 front and Rhedora rear but I cracked them both in one damn weekend. I personally don't see how anyone could choose stock over a kit. Stock is too plain. I only wish Aerotrend carried Urethane. It's either that or I have to get an air set up. I'm a J-Ville guy too so I think I'll chck em out next week.

I have my Star Stage 2 ready to install and want to wait on my new kit so I can install the IC.

By the way...putting the front and rear bumpers on is a piece of cake but the sides are a bitch. Who are you getting to paint it?

It's nothing extreme but the stock 2gb front with the turbo spoiler is so damn sexy that's why people prefer it, not to mention the goddamn blitz kit is so overdone its not even funny, but as said above to each his own do what you like

Imo the bomex kit is the best looking for the 2g eclipses.

Thanks for the input guys. I've had my car for 7 years now and was like time for a change. I just can't get over how cheap it was for all the parts. Yes the sides are going to need a litte work to fit. But thats the fun part of body work. Emsand1 the company I work for is going to paint it for me. Hay when you get your turbo on I would like to check it out. What side of town are you on? I live over on the southside. Well I would like to thank you guys for the input and every body have a happy new year.

I live in Callahan but work in Bayard just past the Avenues. I'm shooting for next month to have it installed. I bought the kit used so it may take some time to verify what other stuff I need.

I hope to have it repainted and rollin by the end of February. I'll give ya a shout man.

In my experience all you need to get people to look at you is sharply kept paint (it helps if you had one of the few factory pearl metallic cars) and some big rims. This puts you firmly into the "Big Pimpin'" category while keeping you out of the "Fucking Ricer" category, meaning your car has universal appeal, since mine seems to fetch the same amount of compliments from guys over 40 as it does from kids under 20.

With my gst, I get more compliments from other adults instead of kids. And that's the only way I want it...I really don't give half a shit what ricer kids think about my stock looking eclipse. I agree with Bumpin...a nice well kept paint job, lowered, and a nice set of rims you'll be set for looks. But like usual, to each his own.

I agree with b_t

Shiny paint, well maintained, nice wheels, 1.2 drop and you're set.

To each his own, but...

Seems to me that $900 is a lot of money to put into a car to make it look fast when it really isn't. Travesty. Another one bites the dust.

You know what.... It's your car, do whatever you want to it. It's not up to others to decide what you like.

I personally like the 97-98 Talon bumper, yeah, you know the one, the wide-mouth smiley.

I agree with others, paint is what draws a lot of attention.

I've even had a sherrif give me a compliment on my car because of the paint and wheels (he stated both). No I wasn't pulled over, this is when my roommate and I had to meet up with one due to my roommate rolling his truck because of a "deer".

if you want the most looks do what ^^^^^ said with lowered and looking clean, but add a nice big turbo, built engine and sexy FMIC to show off then you will be big pimpin':afro
