I live up in North East PA in a little hick-town called Benton:-p i dunno if u know where wilkes berre is but it's like 30 miles east of there

And yes i will probably end up taking out a loan and getting a good paint job but i thought i would consider this option first just 2 save my self a couple bucks

exactly, so why are you asking for a good cheap paint job when it wont last??

spend the extra bucks and get a good one that you will be happy with and it wont have to be redone a few years down the road.

Im in PA, had it done at maaco, it was cheap, and it was a decent job. Nothing great though. I think I might repaint car this summer.

Yeah I know where that is, but I don't have experience with any shops up there. Go around to different shops and get qoutes. If you drive the car everyday and just want something cheap then Macco might not be bad. If you want the paint to look good years down the road then you have to pay for it. Your car, your call.

Oh, try to find a tech school near by that has an auto body department. They can do stuff there REAL cheap but it's not going to be great work. In fact, it could be down right horrible, but you could get lucky because the students do get graded on it and most don't want to fail.

yea we have a tech school pretty close 2 us like 20 miles maybe so far i got a quote from one guy who has a garage near me said between 5 and 6 grand, but my cousin who's gone 2 a tech school and college for autobody and engine repairs and modifications said i could get it for about 2-3 grand so i'm not really good w/ prices on paint i want it 2 b WRX blue what ever color that is really called i dunno. And i would b doing all the sanding myself just 2 cuz back on price

So what are you making a big deal for? Ok well if it'll make you happy I will gladly go and make all my 2's into to's because i don't want TO fight over something this stupid. I just joined this site to get information about eclipses because i really like them. Not to start fights with people

You're wrong. It is your problem.

That's why I type properly - so people can help me. Many people will even agree, if they can't read your writing, they will just pass up on helping you because it's too much effort trying to read.

My problem with your posts is there's no punctuation. The whole body is all one sentence.

You will get a lot more responses if people can read what you're posting. :thumbsup

5 and 6 grand huh? Is he using platnium gold 24k paint or something? most paint jobs even if you sand yourself will run you the same amount. i bet your asking yourself why. if i sand it myself, i will save myself about 500 dollars. WRONG. "Most" shops will just end up charging you for prep work any way because they dont want to be responsible for chipping and shit cuased by your shitty prepping. a good prep job takes up about 75% of a paint job. if you have a poor prep, your gonna have poor results down the road. so what i suggest to you is, go to a shop that is reasonable, 5-6k to paint an eclipse is just fucking rediculous end of story. go to a decent shop and get a quote, it will be probably around $1500-2200 and thats reasonable I guess.

5-6k, good lord. In my state, a complete color change, with everything said and done, an easy $2500 even with HOK and your done, im talking door jams, hatch area, under hood and all. and thats expensive around here!

ha, remind me to never open a paint shop in ohio, i'd go broke!

nah but seriously, some of my more custom paint jobs can run 5-7 grand and higher but that is for wild graphics, air brushing, and hand pinstriping and things like that. what he's talking about for his car for a color change i'd charge about 3500-4k

If your willing to come to central pa theres a great paint shop here called Black Walnut Bodyworks. They do incredible work and if you cruise by their lot you will see some high end stuff sitting around, thats always a good sign.

bring it to elkton maryland and i'll get you hooked up with my friend who is also a painter. he's currently out of work and doing paintwork on the side. he's really good. i can't do it right now i'm busy as hell as it is. i can probably get him to do it for around 1700.

i donno how good of a paintjob your looking for but my buddy dave lightner the owner of delight customs will paint it. he lives here right around harrisburg. http://www.dlightscustoms.com/ he has a couple cars in magazines that he has painted. depending on how much you want to pay to get it painted depends on how nice it will be. or you can go to macco and get a paint job there not all to bad they just like to spray exhausts and get overspray on headlights like they did with mine.
