Dealer, junkyard, or an eclipse forum. I don't know of anybody that makes the stock gauges aftermarket.

Agreed...back before I had the gst, I only found one that was really close. It seems that they aren't making them any longer though :shrug
here's the link to the company and the gauges...you might try calling them to see if they have any leftover 2g gauges http://www.nrauto.com/sub_index.asp?spage=Gauges&elglo=yes
edit...they weren't exactly the same...they were reverse and white faced...but they were close

if you find them post up a link, because I really wanted to get those to go with the defi gauges rather than the green indiglo shit ----------------------------------- 97 RS-T, STAR Stage 2, HAHN FMIC, Decah Lambo Doors, 19" Axis Hiros, Built 420a -----------------------------------

i saw some like what you wanted. they were white and let the orange show through, just like stock. unfortunatley i cant remember where i saw them. i think it was on ebay tho.
aha, there they be. they are just vinyl overlays he says. a bit pricey but about the only other alternative to OEM that i have seen

So do these just basically lay over the stock ones or replace the black face? They are pretty neat. I used to have indiglo gauge faces and I hated them after a while and switched them back to the stock black face. If these just shine through the orange then I would possibly be interested. Anyone know?

It looks like my dash will be getting fiberglassed and I am gonna redo the entire gauge cluster with ALL Stewart Warner Performance gauges. If I do go that route, I have the OZ edition gauges, I will be happy to sell them to anybody looking for it. I will keep you posted.

yup, they are just overlays, and have slots cut out for the stock orange to shine through. if you look at the pic you can tell..and i know the auction says that they are true overlays.

white LED's is all i can think of...and of course youd have to take off the orange backing and all that. you couldent just use reg bulbs cuz they are stil a bit orangish with the tungsten color balance. hopefully you could get it all even enough to where it didnt look so bad. thats the only thing i despise about our gauges. maybe to even it out even more you could get some sorta frosted or semi-transparent plastic to use in conjunction with the stock diffuser setup. its clear so it transmits light easily..but unfortunatley it also causes uneven spotting. if you got a more opaque white plastic it would probably even it out quite well. you might could even rough up the top of the stock diffuser to make it a bit more opaque but that may not do it. something about the consistancy of tupperware or those cheap little square plastic containers is more what im envisioning.
if i were to ever change my gauges about...id want the type that the newer toyota's have in them! i really dunno how else to explain it other than it seems to be the same technology that they use to light up color cell phone screenes with. they are nice and bright and look really cool. i dont think they are an EL. but i know other mfg's have the same dial light up...but i just saw it on my grandpa's toyota matrix and thats the first that came to mind. its totally even and just looks very clean.
but then id have to get gauges to match somehow (pillar etc) and that would be a bitch...so ill just stick to stocker orange hehe

Thankyou sir! It took me a while, but then again I was drunk, to find the 9000 rpm tach on that site. Aparantly Talon's only go up to 8k, and mine is some strange freak car that goes to 9.

i dont like the factory orange lighting. its bland. its not even a nice haloween orange. its just like cheapo-half-burnt-out-lught-bulb orange color, bleh! i got a needle glow kit from importintelligence dot com and the gauge faces as close as possible to the stock look from speedhut dot com. took me about 2 hours total time to get everything in. i have to say, its a huge pain in the ass to do. if you know you dont have the patience DO NOT even attempt. the wires are as thin as a hair, literally, so any hard tug and its all gone. its very intricate work. gauges fit okay for the most part, i did have to mydify my cluster a bit. by that i mean i had to drill some openings for wires to go through and such. ive got photos of how i put in the needle glow kit, if theres enough requests ill make a write up. if you want to have that same look of any other color you can find them on those sites, but if you cant or dont want to do it yourself, let me know. you can ship it to me and for like 30 bucks plus shipping i can put it in for you. all you have to do after is cram the cluster back in and put the needles back on to where they were. if you want me to make that for you let me know on AIM. im usually on. i asked around shops if they can do this for me, they quoted me way too high(around 150 on average) and some didnt want to do it after looking at the parts. ive done mine and i know how to do it now. i can always walk you through the process if you want, but once again your hands are not mine so if you mess up its all you. to me its worth it. i love that blue color. you can do diff colors or combinations of those. as far as the faces go, you can design your own even with lettering or graphics. i kept mine looking as close to stock as i could. i am not one to show off.

I have decided to get those in the near future. I know it's a "worthless" "mod" by a lot of peoples standards, but I like the red needles with blue letters (my dad's jetta has those).
It might be a PITA, but at least it will say 170 on the speedometer, not that I'll go that fast, one day, but not now!
