inverter is being hard wired, already have wireless controllers.

as for extra weight, i dont really care cuz my car is not fast... if i wanted fast id rip almost everything out, slap a turbo kit on it, forged internals, and all that stuff, but i dont really care at all about going fast, ill never even go to a track...

How do you go about hardwiring a power inverter, do you just wire the power directly to the battery with a switch in the power line and ground the other side. Or do you need to wire it to the fuse box and ground the ground wire. I have been meaning to do this since I have a ps2 slim in my car now and every now and again I think the cigarette lighter outlet looses its conductivity and the ps2 completely restarts itself and it is annoying as all hell haha. Any help would be great! thanks

When my power inverter was hard wired into the car, I just pulled straight off the battery about six inches into a fusible link then through the firewall to the power inverter. I never turned the power inverter off. My owner's manual says the power draw is >.5/hr with the power inverter idling. After three days without the car moving and the power inverter idling I noticed no difference in crank time or loss of power off the battery. Just wire it right the first time.

i wired mine to the red radio power wire and grounded the other side. i had to put a 20 amp fuse under the hood but it works fine.

This is the proper way to do it but remember that some inverters draw more current than others while "idling". So it's a good idea to put in a toggle switch inline on the positive wire. This way if you have an older or otherwise less powerful battery, you can just shut it off when you turn off your car. Then you have 0.00/hr draw from the inverter.
