90828, Sunr roof and interior lighting question Posted by gramozeka, Nov-20-05 03:10 PM
I have a 98 Talon ESi with sun roof. Now after reading a wealth of info form various online manual I am wondering
#1 Why my car does not have an interior floor lights, no sockets no wires? #2 Why the sun roof is not operable 30sec after ignition is off like the power windows? I always forget to close it and have to turn on the ignition to close the sunroof.
It says in the manuals that the above features should be present. Do I have to start looking for mods for the items above?

my sunroof is not active at all with the key off, however i do have interior lights on the rearview mirror, and under the glove box, and steering wheel sections, nothing that really helps at night though if thats what you mean, they're more of a courtesy light than a usefull domelight. ----------------------------------- 97 RS-T, STAR Stage 2, HAHN FMIC, Decah Lambo Doors, 19" Axis Hiros, Built 420a -----------------------------------

Yeah the map lights do turn on if I open the doors, but there is nothing for the floor. I like when the lights are there makes it easy to get in/out and also if I drop somthing at night helps to find that something. I see you have an eclipse I am wondering if that is a talon thing not to put courtesy lights there. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 98 Stock Talon ESi Mods: New spark Plugs, and UDP I know spark plugs are not a mod but the car runs so smooth now.

I know that I dont have those lights, i think that up to 96's, they didnt have those lights. Now i know my brothers 99 eclipse has them, so im guessing 97-99 they brought them in. Im not sure about this tho.
Edit: i see your a 98, maybe it was just for eclipses then :shrug

Thanks for replies. yes it looks like that is another difference between Talon and Eclipse
BTW my 93 1.8 eclipseGS with crank windows did have those lights
Can someone start a poll on that? And we will know for sure.

im pretty sure all DSM's came with the foot courtsey lights. maybe yours got ripped out, or maybe your just not lookin in the right place. i know one time i took out my bulbs and it took me a few sec to figure out where they went back at lol.

Do you think u can snap a picture or explain clearly where those foot lights suppose to be, So I can go and check maybe it's just a bund out bulb

they best way i can tell you to find them is this. look at the top bolt on the kick panel on either side. now kinda trace a line over to the center of the vehicle (over..not back) about 2" maybe. look and there will be a peice of square metal about oooh 1.5x1.5" and it should either have a bulb or a hole in the center of it. just plug in any standard 194 bulb (i think thats the one).
