i am installing blitz urethane sideskirts and rear bumper, sideskirts fit great, but i have run into a few problems with the rear bumper. the bumper has some puckers in it under the tail lights and the center peice, and there is also a large gap under the center peice and the drivers side tail light. i was wondering if anyone could help me with straightening out these problems?

it doesnt look THAT bad. You could always just grind those humps down some and my old urethane blitz bumper had a gap inbetween the tail lights and top of the bumper too. I just put some washers underneath the bumper and then bolted it down so then it was pretty much flush with the bottom of the tail lights!

You could also hit it with a heat gun from the underside and prop it until it cools. I had to do this with my kit at some spots.

I used a product they call Fuze-It. You can find it an just about any automtive store.

Not a very good flexible product. If you are molding urethane to metal, I would highly recommend using some UPOL SBC2. Its super flexible and is still very strong!

i have been doing some searching on the internet and on upol's web site and i am not able to find UPOL SBC2. should my local bodyshop have it or be able to order it for me or where could i order it myself?

yes a local shop should have it.

just tell them you want the flexible UPOL filler.

I heard that UPOL has a tendency to shrink over time leaving subtle indentations when it is used. That is the only reason I didn't use it, but from what I've heard, that is also a very good agent to use for molding!

no it doesnt. upol makes top of the line products!~

Or you could just cut out a piece of metal to sopport the bumper around the bolt areas? Like the bar on the front bumper that keeps the bottom in shape? I think that would be easier, but I hate to do body work so that could be why.

ok well yesterday i went to all my local body shops in search of flexible UPOL filler and all of them said that they have never heard of a flexible filler, they only use bondo they said. is there anywhere online where i could order it?

fusor also works . i think its fusor 147 . you can probably find it at a local body shop supply store or ebay might have it . a lot of body shops dont know what upol or fusor is because most shops dont do plastic repair .

sounds like a great shop since all they use is the genuine junk aka bondo!

Do not use FUSOR 147 unless you seal it with epoxy primer. It is a urathane based/ and fillers are ployester. They chemically do not work together. I have experienced this on my 2002 celica fender flares which didn't hold up one day in the heat. It will create a gas and bubble the paint. I had to cut flares off remove all filler and start over. Try upol products and 3M makes nice stuff. Like in a previous post heat should get the bumper to re-shape I used a heat gun and a towel once hot hold it into place and have someone cool it off by dumping water on it.
